T-REX_DAH WORDSMITH_ALL A DREAM

There’s a cliché in the Hip Hop world that says “too many Mics but few Emcees thrive in the game.” The Nigerian Hip Hop scene is indeed replete with so many ‘characters’ all struggling for a spot in the limelight. Away from all the razzmatazz the commercially inclined music industry seeks to obfuscate listeners with ‘dumb it down’ contents of music promoted and patronized by fans but, there’s need for true lovers of the art of emceeing to re-establish contact with the fast eroding essence of what Hip hop represents in its truest form; the revival of creativity and consciousness has now become a burden only few true disciples of hip hop such as T-Rex are willing to shoulder.

T-Rex unbeknown to many fans of Hip Hop has been a veteran who has remained faithful to underground hip hop scene all through the years unlike most of his contemporaries who are well known today he has kept a relatively low profile but definitely his skills remain quite extraordinary without diminishing in lyrical proficiency. ‘Dah Wordsmith’ is another moniker of this Hip Hop lyricist that has refused to let his ‘dreams’ of registering his name in Hip Hops’ hall of fame fade out.

Call this the return of T-Rex from a long hiatus your assertion wouldn’t be denied same as calling him one of the finest Emcees Naija is blessed with isn’t an overrated statement. This great artiste has put out a great song called “All a dream” produced by EX-O, the song is definitely a ‘crowd pleaser’ but it’s also a classic that allows fans dive into the mind of the lyrical genius himself as he talks about his dreams from where his passion for rap began at an early age of six. Listening to Dah Wordsmith you can tell his style of delivery is superb and distinct. His lyricism is original his Mic- flow prowess is effortless to say the least. His influences include Craig Mack, The Notorious B.I.G, Nas and Big L.

This song ‘ALL A DREAM’ as earlier stated is produced by EX-O it contains voice samples of I have a dream speech by Martin Luther King Jnr and also a voice cut from Biggie smalls epic song Juicy.

Without further ado “All a dream” is a classic song worth downloading and listening to guaranteed to keep your head nodding nonstop.
