By 2007 he was known as a dreaded Rap battle Emcee during his undergraduate days at A.B.U Zaria.

Melanin is believed to have lots of unreleased Hip Hop materials in audio forms which he prefers to tag tapes which he promised will be released in due time to his teeming fans.
